1. Used for Premium BBQ Grilling
The heat generated by 1 kg of lychee, longan, or eucalyptus white charcoal is about 8,000 – 8,500 kcal/kg, which is 1.2 – 1.3 times higher than sawdust charcoal. This is the main reason why meat is cooked evenly inside while the surface does not burn. Of course, the distance between the grill and the charcoal, the thickness of the meat, and the turning frequency should be properly adjusted.

Advantages of Binchotan White Charcoal for BBQ:
- Long-lasting burning time (average 180 minutes depending on usage conditions and position);
- Burns without sparks, smoke, or odor.
- High calorific value (>8,000 kcal/kg). The red-hot charcoal emits infrared radiation that cooks food evenly from inside out, keeping the surface crisp while maintaining moisture and flavor.
- Normal burning temperature: 700 – 800°C, up to 850 – 950°C when fanned.
- Almost no ash after burning, making cleaning easy. Ash content <3%.
- Keep Binchotan white charcoal in a dry place, away from moisture and electric sources.
- Do not use Binchotan white charcoal in microwave ovens.
- Do not place near high temperatures.
- After taking charcoal out, reseal the bag tightly as before. If crackling occurs, it means the charcoal has absorbed moisture due to a loose or open plastic bag.
2. Water Filtration
Due to its highly porous structure (micro-capillary pores), white charcoal absorbs impurities, chemicals, heavy metals, and odor-causing substances in water. It also releases minerals when soaked, acting as a natural micro water purifier.

The water quality becomes completely different from water filtered by machines. Especially for people with sensitive skin, charcoal-filtered water is better for the body. Put 100 – 150 g of Binchotan white charcoal into a 1-liter bottle of water. After one night, you’ll have natural mineral water. Placing Binchotan in the freezer also makes ice cleaner and tastier.
3. Use When Cooking Rice:

Add 50 – 100 g of Binchotan charcoal into the rice cooker. The rice becomes softer, more fragrant, and eliminates bran odor.
Place a charcoal stick inside the rice container to prevent mold and insects.
4. Odor and Moisture Removal
The same deodorizing and antibacterial effect applies to shoe cabinets. After one month, sun-dry or gently heat the charcoal, rinse, and reuse up to two more times. (Note: broken charcoal can be crushed and mixed into soil to help retain moisture.)
6. Absorbing Electromagnetic Waves
White charcoal can absorb harmful electromagnetic waves that affect human health. It’s especially beneficial for people who work on computers for long hours. Placing white charcoal near computers or monitors helps reduce eye strain and fatigue.

7. Dehumidifying and Anti-Mold Effects
White charcoal has strong antibacterial properties and can be used as bird perches — helping trim claws and maintain hygiene.
Place about 10 kg of white charcoal in a 25 m² room. The negative ions from the charcoal will disinfect, absorb moisture, and purify the air.
When building houses, spreading 50–100 kg of white charcoal under the floor or in corners helps prevent mold, termites, mites, and dampness. The far-infrared radiation also keeps the house warm in winter, cool in summer, and dry during rainy seasons.
Characteristics of White Charcoal:
– Completely smokeless, odorless, non-explosive (safe for use in enclosed spaces, air-conditioned rooms, restaurants).
– Total heat: 8,000 Kcal/kg
– Total moisture: 3%
– Fixed carbon: 91%
– Ash content: 2.5%
– Sulfur (S): 0.01%
– Burning time: 3.5 – 4.5 hours
Production Technology
Producing white charcoal is much more difficult than making regular black charcoal.
- After stacking the wood logs vertically in the kiln, the top of the kiln is ignited. The temperature is maintained at 80 – 100°C to dry the wood completely.
- Then, the temperature is raised to remove all resin and decompose the wood gradually, hardening it and turning it dark.
- The kiln temperature reaches up to 1,200°C. The wood structure breaks down, releasing methane and other gases.
- Finally, the charcoal is pulled out and cooled before packaging. Once cooled, Binchotan is ready for shipment.
